Will DNA test tell me if I have Native American blood?

DNA research may or may not turn up Native American blood depending on how much of it is in the family.

We also had that legend of Native American blood, as do many American families, but DNA turned none up.  This was on one of those lines that suddenly appeared around 1830.

According to an article I read, DNA cannot provide you with the tribe you descend from if you have Native American blood.

Native Americans are difficult to research. If you know the tribe your best bet is to start researching the tribe and find out what records are available.
