How Do I Check Past Weather Reports?

Last week, I shared the idea from another genealogy research to check the weather for specific, special dates.

But how do I check the weather?

1. Farmer’s Almanac
   1. {Online goes back to 1945, so if you need before then check local libraries to see if they have a copy of the Almanac}     
2. Newspapers for that date or week provided the weather
3. Check the US National Archives {they had people record weather for them across the nation and report to the Smithsonian}
4. Check with the National Weather Service
