When researching genealogy, one of the best places to start with vital records.

So what are vital records?

According the Wikipedia,  “Vital records are records of life events kept under governmental authority, including birth certificates, marriage licenses, and death certificates.”

Why are vital records important?vital records

They can provide great information such as important dates, parent’s names, places of the incident, etc.

How do I find vital records?

This really depends on which vital records you are looking for.

Birth Certificates and Death Certificates are available through the County Health Department.

Marriage Records can be found at the probate office in the county of the marriage.
