Genealogy Friday: Military Records at the National Archives

The National Archives have numerous records regarding the history of the United States.

They have the originals of various service and military records from the Revolutionary War through to the Vietnam Conflict.  However, all of these records are not available online.  Many of these records have to be requested from the National Archives by the veteran or a family member.

As I stated last week, many of these records for earlier conflicts can be found on Fold 3.  If you are unable to find a service record, you can always contact the National Archives for additional information.

What records have you obtained from the National Archives?
